Sigh, I love a good controversial story or action. Mass Effect 1, Modern Warfare 2's No Russian (One of two meaningful missions, in the ENTIRE single player) Doom, and loads others the gaming world alone has faced. Without ranting about the stupidity of Fox News, let's move on. Mass Effect made a point, as did No Russian (kinda badly, but still). Those are good examples. Now it's time for the bad -_-. Dante's Inferno. Ugh. Dante's Inferno was obviously trying to be a God of War game and adhere to it's fanbase. Like I have previously mentioned one of God of War's most demeaning features is the nudity. Oh. My. Gosh. Dante's Inferno makes God of War look like Harvest Moon. The game tried so hard to be controversial it ended up looking like fan-made garbage pile, furthering peoples purchasing decisions toward GOOD action games. Yeah it's God of War with more nudity in it and that is a very, very bad thing. Okay Rant Status: Over. I hope you can now see that there is a line, much like the uncanny valley, in which Developers need to know about. It's the controversy line; one side makes you look courageous and thoughtful, the other side makes you look like a child. I think you know which is which.
